金色堂

金色堂: こんじきどう【金色堂】

(1)内部を極楽世界に模して金箔(キンパク)や螺鈿(ラデン)で飾った阿弥陀堂。

(2)岩手県西磐井(イワイ)郡平泉町の中尊寺にある藤原清衡(キヨヒラ)・基衡(モトヒラ)・秀衡(ヒデヒラ)三代の廟堂。 1124年清衡が建立。方三間の単層，屋根は宝形造り。内外に黒漆を塗り，金箔を施す。藤原時代の建築の代表作。光堂(ヒカリドウ)。
